The Fraser Coast Industry & Careers Showcase isn’t just any jobs expo – it’s a one-stop employment shop connecting employers and trainers with the jobseekers of today and the workforce of tomorrow.
Participating employers come from diverse sectors including trades and manufacturing, health and aged care, timber and agriculture, defence and emergency services, hospitality, education and more.
What they have in common is that they’re all keen to be part of the drive to grow our own workforce.
You’ll also be able to talk to a range of training institutions and employment support organisations. So if you discover your dream job, you can also find the training or education pathway to get there and, if needed, get some support to reduce any workplace barriers you might be facing.
What makes this event different?
The Fraser Coast Industry & Careers Showcase is about more than stalls and pamphlets.
Our 2022 attracted more than 2,000 students and jobseekers and more than 80 businesses and organisations – and importantly, also led to a range of great employment outcomes across multiple sectors.
How? Well, it provides real-world insights into a range of roles and careers through live and interactive demonstrations, hands-on experiences and opportunities to talk to industry experts.
There’s also a real-time jobs board, enabling people to apply for vacancies on the spot, or express interest in longer-term training or career opportunities.
Who’s it for?
The showcase is for everyone, whether you’re trying to map out your future, find your first job, change careers, or downshift towards retirement.
It’s open to people of all ages from 1pm – 5pm, with a special focus for secondary students from 10am – 2pm.
Regardless of your age or stage, the showcase is the one event this year you can’t miss!
How can I apply for jobs on the day?
The best way for you to view, search for and apply for local vacancies is to register on the Fraser Coast Jobs Hub before you attend the Showcase, or at the Jobs Hub booth on the day.
Participating local businesses list their vacancies on the hub, which will be visible online and on a big jobs board at the Showcase booth – where staff will also be there to help you with laptops, printers and photocopiers, and general guidance.
Remember to bring your resume with you to hand out to employers on the day, or create your AirCV online. If you run out of printed copies, don’t panic! The team can help you print more.
